Top of the morning. On my second cup of coffee, oh yes there will be a third. Probably should go back to the mega mart place and buy another can at that price. Did the bakery run. Nothing like a bakery on a Sunday morning.
It is probably the 1 tradition I do adore. My bakery, a good solid place. Prices go up every now and then, as does everything else. I enjoy it immensely, I usually go for the chocolate danish. 15 seconds in the microwave. Simple and wonderful, goes very well with my coffee.
Soon we shall get ready to do the list for shopping. May take my car, not clear yet. Was supposed to go over some meal plans for sister but that never panned out. And something happened that I will not go into.
Got my IPod charging. I remember a long time ago when I ran the big inserting machine at my company. Called the Series 8. I had bought the big $400 IPod thing that I put all my cd's on and such. Then I discovered something called a podcast. I'm going to assume most of my audience understands this, or can at least go find out about it.
Found one from Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier called SModcast. Think I jumped in on episode 3 and hooked ever since. Well I know listen to all of the attached pod casts and it is fun. The most interesting thing is that recently they spoke about a story from over sea's. It's not going to become a movie. It's kind of cool because I feel like I saw it happening. Just thought I'd share that.

Saturday Morning
Welcome to Saturday morning. I remember fondly when it used to be about cartoons. Cartoons and how much I could watch before being sent outside to play to "get some fresh air".
I'm taking a decidedly different approach this weekend. Firstly I'm not running straight out of the box. I'm easing into Saturday like one eases into a hot tub.
Need to get money for food shopping. Yard work is an imperative. This afternoon, when to hot for that, garage sales. Have a couple scoped out, shall write down directions with next cup of coffee. Make the evening mass. Plans tonight.
Tomorrow promises rain, ugh. I'm actually not looking that forward to my little smoke shop, that's surprising. Ooh, I think the breakfast crew is making noise to go to deli. Maybe today I'll get something. Oatmeal just won't do this morn.
Yesterday, Friday obviously, was busy at work. Was invited to a happy hour and I almost declined. In my mind said I, oh I'll have to get the pizza, Thank fully I snapped out of that and went. Finished the evening with a nice smoke by the water. Good time.
Have a good weekend. Later.

Feeling blah, Let's talk about Sunday
Hi. Monday night, thinking about bed shortly, and Sunday. Want to hear about it? Yeah thought so.
Typical Sunday, food shopping. It was a pleasant day, not as hot as Saturday. I set out for my Sunday haunt the cigar lounge. Already wondering how the change in ownership would change my Sundays.
Now I'm not sure if I've mentioned this, but the owners of the shop have really let the place go. Depleted stock, just a general sense of not caring. The guy on Sunday was enthused and kept me informed on what was going on. There were 2 guys looking to buy it. 1 a regular I knew, the other not at all.
In fact the guy has come in the past few Sundays. Never so much as said boo to me, but seemed enthused about the prospect of what could be done with the place. I'm terrible about first impressions, so as a rule I disregard them completely.
2 weeks ago, the Sunday guy said the deal was all but done. He was to be the manager. He's an easy going retired dude, real easy to talk to and such. The 1 week ago, from this last Sunday, all that the owner was waiting on was for the insurance to clear. And then he told me about the changes.
Tim, the dude I first met there, a solidly good soul. Well they pretty much screwed him and he quit. It's not a bad thing, may be just the kick in the ass he needs. The Sunday dude would be now running the store on weekdays from open until 5. Which pretty much means I'll not see him unless I'm off from work. I'll miss him too.
Sunday arrives, I'm the first of the guys to arrive, the new owner is there. Not the best personality. I congratulated him, bought my cigars and sat. We basically didn't speak. My friend came in. Dude who actually found the place, it's somewhere buried in entries past. Continued, it's Tuesday.
As he walked back, owner in the front, he says to me.
"Mr. personality he isn't."
Was pleasant, few more people came in. My friend left and I was soon after him. It will be an interesting transition. I was off to my house to see what new fresh Hell awaited.
Sister had taken half a pain pill so she was loopy, managed to clean out the sink. We had a conversation about dinner. At some point brother in law came in, awake after afternoon siesta and the beer.
There was an animated discussion about dinner. Sister didn't want what we had. Brother in law was getting pissy as he often gets, especially when drunk. After much animation, I could see moods deteriorating before me, I went out for burgers. The mood had sunk worse when I returned.
Brother in law barely spoke. He served sister her burger in their bedroom. Just as I was finishing mine I was summoned. Still chewing I waited. She wanted a soda and something else I forget. I stood there still chewing and she wanted to know why I didn't just run and get the stuff. I mentioned that she could've just asked the brother in law and the response was,
"I won't ever ask him to get me anything again."
Still chewing she told me I could have already returned with her wants. I said when I'm done chewing. I also mentioned if she gave me any more attitude she would get squat.
Made up my mind and grabbed 2 cigars for the night out. Went down by the water to listen to music. They do music on a lawn across the way and it carries over. So I get music, a nice smoke, and wonderful music. I also wasn't going home before 9. She'd make an example and get me to get a lot of little shit and I wasn't having it.
About 8 I was done, disposed of my butts in a trash can in the next parking lot. Lot's of people and families, fishing and just enjoying a Sunday night. I tend to be a polite smoker. And the rocks are a nice place, with not to many people.
A new ice cream shop had opened. Good stuff. I got a small salted caramel, it was delicious. I then decided to get gas for the car, I was a little below the 1/4 mark. I made it home by 9:30.
They were pretty much sleeping and that is how my weekend ended. Hope you enjoyed the tale.

Saturday's Highlinghts. Long Entry.
Top of the morning, 6:30 on a Sunday morning, looks to be a hot day out there but only into the low 80's a bit of relifef out there people.
Okay now more realistic. A plodding pace. Munching on a few fried calamari, I do not understand why I love them more the next morning ice cold. No sauce, just popping them and enjoying. Got them for dinner last night. Well that and some potatoe skins. Skins are gone and were delicious topped with the fra diablo sauce. Unfortunately, the place forgot my sisters order. She also went with the skins and ordered chicken fingers. I called the place and they will credit us. I offered to pick them up but she said forget it. Oooooh coffee beeped. I'll be back.
A fine cup indeed. It's in a mug from a general store. It's a landmark or some such. The sell usual stuff, code for I can't really get the words together. Some old time candies. I rememberd being along the back wall and looking at stuff. I saw this mug. I dropped it. Didn't break or chip. I recieved no recriminations from the employess, I bought it. It has raised lettering and even the front of the store on the front is raised. You cannot find it anymore. They are all the usual slick mugs on the shelf, nothing distinguished, glad I bought it. Anyways...as for the recorded live bit, I kept voice memos on each stop.
I set sail on the warm and muggy Saturday morning. First to the bank, done off the list, couldn't do loan because I didn't have the payoff amount and my person was on vacation. It was just after 9, I'd intended to have a smoothie to make the hot drive more pleasant but the crepe place wasn't open. Back to my town. A hair cut was in order, there was one person in front of me.
Told the guy I'd be back, he said not to go far. My starting point was the garage sale that was right in town. So off I went. Up and Down the whole avenue, no sale, no signs. I returned and got my hair cut. Also decided to go to a smoothie place called jamba juice since it was technically on my way.
$10 haircut $3 dollar tip; odometer set to zero; started drive to second place when I decided place wasn't called jamba juice but tropical smoothie. Off I went. Never found it on the highway.
10:31, first garage sale, directions were spot on according to my voice memo thing. Not much at all at the garage sale for me. Also it was now 84 degrees, decided to put a/c on when doing the memo part. Came to conclusion to turn around, wasn't going back to crepe place, to far now, back down the highway, if I didn't find tropical smoothie I'd just hit the house for an Honest Ade in the fridge.
Apparently on way back I do find....ba ba bup...Jamba Juice. $6.40 smoothie, blueberry, strawberry, banana, peach and mango, non dairy. I note it is thick as all Hell and should last. I can tell you it was very enjoyable. Think it was the Middle size.
I missed the next garage sale because of all the backtracking necessary. I did pick up one in the development, not much to offer. 11:11 I do make a note of speaking about the devolpment. It was neat, the main road in had benches and even a gazebo every now and then, just looked so nice a place for a rest and even a smoke.
Also, let me say that this is a neat way to spend time and see some new areas of your towns. Hopefully safe ones. I avoid ones that give me a queasy feeling. Probably why I don't go to the area my friend who gave me this idea goes to. That area can be very......strange.
Found the next one on the list easily. Was on a dead end street that had really nice 2 story houses. Pointy roofs, I'm sorry I really don't know enough to say what style. Was a good draw, nice high end stuff, nothing for me however. Now it was back up on the highway, 3 to go.
After some machinations I found the next place. A sale in a new little 1 street development. Junk mostly. Then I got really lost.
Was an area I wasn't familiar with at all, followed my directions. Passed a 2 light intersection where cops were checking seatbelts. At the end of where I went was the hospital mom died in, good hospital, so I turned around. I do a turn around, pass the cops again, wind up in a town I don't want to be lost in. Turn around back towards the hospital, yes, pass the cops one more time for good measure. Pull into the parking lot, make a note that it is 11:35 and I'm giving up and getting on with my day. I don't though. There is only 1 more garage sale to go.
Of course I pass another along side a very busy road, make a left and up the street. Oh the street. From the trees, the lazy look of it, to the pavement on the street. Took me back to my childhood, it rocked.
Anyway, that garage sale was non-existent as well, turned around, avoided the idea of getting hit on side of the road and ended it at the water.
I was close enough and in fact note that I ended it at the water where I generally smoke my cigar. The parking lot where I sit has no garbage cans, so you have to walk up to the next one to toss the debris.
Official time it was over I say, on memo, 12:09. Total miles 36.9. Not bad at all. Hope you enjoyed this entry.

Today promises to be busy. Oh and hot.
As usual the week ends and the weekend is born. Been a week I tell you. Still stuff I haven't mentioned at all. And still haven't done anything about he piece in the drafts. Yeah I know, you'll live.
Thankfully I've my coffee and it's just 7 in the morning. Okay Saturday where do we start with you. This is what needs doing.
Banking; garage sales organizing and then attending; haircut; exercise; new hose for the front; weeding and more weeding; was car; clean out old car; drop off check to pharmacy; buy new bottle of honey; laundry; and here I pause. Why?
Probably because I'm forgetting a few things. Also once written down it isn't all that overwhelming at all. Have I become one of those easily overwhelmed people? No I refuse to believe that. It does however seem a lot. Okay well if you organize it a bit I reckon.
If you've read recently, I've interested in garage sales. So am finding a bunch relatively close to one another and going. Today has the added benefit of being hot and sunny. So that part should be quick and can be filed under amusement part.
Okay landromat, honey, haircut, pharmacy are all actally quite close to one another. Haircut could be the longest. Still the one old barber in there. Went last week but there were 3 people in front of me. So I'll have to get out by 8:15 to get one today. I like the guy, does a good job, and at a reasonable price.
The health food store where I purchase my honey is just down the road from him so I'll pop in. Very fond of my local honey in my oatmeal as you may know. Landromat and the pharmacy are right next to eachother. I need to pay the pharmacy. The laundromat?
My brother in law has suceeded in making the 3 loads of laundry he does of his and my sister, into a week long event now. And I just refuse to give a damn. And if it costs me about $8 in washing and drying included, to wash and then dry and fold my laundry, well that suits me just fine.
Just need cash. That is where banking comes in. Have to go to bank, it's in the next town of course. While there, talk to the loan officer I'm friendly with. Just got the tiltle for the new car in the mail. So that means refinance with MY bank, get a lower rate, and just save myself some money.
At some point in this heat wave I noticed that the landscapers cut both ends of my hose. So the lawn is dying of thirst. The trees getting no water are letting leaves fall. What? Who asked why doesn't any one else buy one then, or water the lawn, or even just replace it with the backyard hose? Shush up you. Probably a newcomer. Seriously I would be the only one for the job. Although I do like the idea just replacing the hose.
The yardwork is the worst part. I mean in this heat it could be deadly, but so is my yard. Something must be done. My brother in law came out last night as I relaxed with a cigar. Said he wished the landscaper would come in and do this. I looked at him and asked where the money to pay him would be coming from?
Well it's 7:30, their breakfast run is about to begin. I've had mine. I do need that second cup of coffee tho. Must get running myself. Thanks for listening.

Really trying to gather my thoughts. Let's see I've got something working in the drafts about a hilarious event that took place. Problem is 2 fold. Really difficult for people to get a handle on the lunacy of it without an introduction to my co-worker. Not something you could just read cold you know.
Monday was simply an awesome day for me. Had one of the single best work out days I've had in 3 or 4 years. And then work was busy as Hell. Moving a lot of stuff physically, felt great to be able to do that again. Was to exhausted to mow the lawn when I got home, slept great.
Tuesday. That is another story. Does not affect me, but cannot go into it in this time frame. So I've the thoughts and stuff to write about. Just don't have the capacity for it, if that is what I mean at all.
I don't mind a rambling blog, I'm quite fond of them actually. There are things however that require cohesive thought. That is what I have not had the capacity to do for the last few days. Even now I'm reminding myself I've no lunch, and need to wash container to bring a snack to work in.
Just a bunch of jumbled thoughts. Oh and I want to be able to leave on time to make the gym of course. There is cohesion there let's talk about the gym.
Firstly I've not joined one, still using the one at my job. We're down a treadmill so 1 isn't available to me when I get there. I've felt I have needed more. Emboldened by my last city adventure. So I decided to use the elliptical machine.
Was a great 30 minute experience. Legs felt great. I'm thinking I may actually may have started up again last week. Well my legs are feeling much stronger now which I needed. Especially when you consider that on Monday the elevator was broken. I work in the concourse, office buildings don't say basement apparently. The loading dock is the floor above. So yes, many, many, many trips up the stairs. But that is besides the point.
When I was done I wanted something more. So I used a machine for the arms. Nothing huge, triceps and quads I think. When I say nothing huge, I mean 20lbs. 3 reps of 10. Was pleasant.
Upped the level on Tuesday which was pleasant. Oh thank goodness for pod casts, otherwise I don't know how I'd last on the damned machine. Worked on the biceps a bit. Today back to the other machine after the elliptical. I remember something about not working the same group of muscles two days in a row if you don't have to.
I'm looking for toning and a little more muscle mass. Hoping to drop a few pounds before my cardiologist appointment at months end. Other than that stuff is, hectic. Hopefully will be back to explain. And maybe get the preamble to the draft story finished.
Later.
Oh and spell check button may be back, but it is now terrible. Hope they fix it.

Saturday
Morning, coffee and me here. Been a week. I started a draft about a hilarious incident on a co-worker. It's still in draft status. I'm having some issues with it. So we'll see what happens.
Nothing much went on this week. Usual mundane stuff. Work, smoke, eat, sleep, rinse, and repeat.
Weather has been a tad gloomy, not sure if that had anything to do with it. And don't get me wrong, been enjoying my evening smoke in my pool. When not raining of course.
I've got a lot of little things and plans going on. I really need to loose some weight. Have to watch what I'm eating much more carefully. Although I started back at the gym on the elliptical machine. It seems to have strengthened my leg muscles nicely. I did price one of the local gyms, but at $65 a month, is a little out of my price range just now.
I've been hitting garage sales frequently, not spending on them, just browsing. Made a notebook at work for myself this week. My intention is that when I'm done here; after pouring myself another cup of coffee; I'm going to organize a list of these sales and hit them. Instead of just meandering wildly.
We'll see what happens. Other than that no plans at all for the weekend. Got some nice sleep last night. Woke up about 5 with a wicked hangover headache, without the benefit of the fun of drinking the night before I might add, I have however, had enough of these to identify with them.
Popped a Tylenol, put an extra blanket on and woke up at about 8. Guess that's why I'm running behind. The coffee is good. Well it's time for that cup and that means organizing and that means....

Boredom
The title says it all. I'm bored. It's 8:23, later when I get done, and I'm bored. When did this happen. Do I have dvd's to watch? Yes. Television? Yes. I even have a computer, as you can tell. Oh and this new spell check stinks.
Got maybe 2 hours sleep last night. Just couldn't sleep. Think I took the diuretic to late, that didn't help at all. 'At one point in the bathroom I heard the dog alight down from the bed. Said to myself "someone wants to go out." Well she was by the door. But by the bathroom door was a puddle greeting me. So happy a thing at midnight.
Wasn't to concerned, I had my last day off of July today. Was to be a busy assed day. Had to get my first oil change of the new car, get my blood test, decided to do laundry, dishwasher had to be emptied, pans from last night and last week had to be washed, oh and some fun.
Mechanic complimented me on my car again. My normal crew was at the blood lab so no issues there. I'd decided to split my loads of laundry. My dryer really stinks. I did the heavy stuff at the laundromat and the light at the house. I also got rid of some clothes that I've kept for no other reason except laziness.
Chief amongst them was a pair of black corduroy pants. These infamous scoundrels had even been washed. Why infamous? Well there was a hole in the knee, from when I tripped 2, yes 2 years back at work. Causing me to go to the hospital. It's somewhere in my heart blog. Why I kept them let alone washed them is beyond me. Mind you I washed them 1 year ago thinking I'd found a new pair. Disappointed that they had a hole in the knee. So that is the type I tossed. Stuff that goodwill would send me bad will if I donated.
The dishwasher was easy. Scrubbed the pans. Including one from last nights dinner. Ribs. Good stuff. I decided to treat the kiddies with a surprise last night. Hit my dude up at the meat counter. Asked if 2 racks would be enough. He said sure, weighed them, then proceeded to load up the container with more. He's a good guy and the manager, so I wasn't concerned he'd get in trouble.
Had a cigar in the pool and that's about it. Was hoping to watch some you tube, but the main person I watch isn't uploading tonight apparently.
Anyway thanks for hanging. Going to make a cup of tea and wait for sleep which should be easier tonight. Oh and now have to find room for a whole lot more clothes now that they're clean. They were under some of the stuff I tossed. Tossed, include 1 linen collarless shirt I adored, elbows had worn through the material. And my favorite item of the day. A pair of old sweats with a zipper, but no draw string. I'd worn them so much that the fabric that was round it had literately disintegrated.
Good night.

A hot Sunday in July
Good Morning. Well the first thing that makes me smile is I see my little spell check icon is back. Yeah!
I told you I'd decided to drive on Friday. Or maybe I just skipped the debate here altogether. You didn't miss much. I drove. Not usually my first choice. That would be the train. Point 1, they were busing between my station and one about 20 miles away.
Normally, if it had been Saturday, I'd just drive there and leave the car overnight. You cannot do that until after 6 during the week, I think it's six, in the evening. That is to allow for all the commuters who have stickers to park there. And I don't disagree. Not sure if it is a ticket, tow, or both, in any case never during working hours.
The other reason for this was the horrendous heat of the day. My cousin is a good 10 city blocks away from the subway, maybe more. There is nothing like hot, humid city walking. And I knew we'd be doing some walking anyway.
The car did very well, I had the air conditioning blowing the entire way. Had opted for the Brooklyn Bridge. Great bridge, easy to get to, oh and yes, it's a free crossing. Knew they were going to hit me bad for an overnight at the parking garage.
It was a nice visit. It was a slow day for him, he'd gone out the night before and was going out again Saturday night. Munched on a couple of bagels he'd bought, along with some edame beans. So actually kind of quiet. Did a lot of walking around looking around in the heat of the day. Was excruciating. Think he was more nervous about my heart. I was just enjoying the conversation, sites, and just being able to do what I enjoy again.
Spent some time on the outdoor deck of his building watching the water and such. Got some nice pictures. Went back downstairs to watch the Mets game. They won. We were both beat as Hell from the heat earlier. Actually he went out again to grab some burritos. I stayed at the apartment. I figured I'd slow him down and just hung out. I did have a beer.
After some breakfast. Pancakes, juice and such. I wanted to get out early, did have some plans. Also I wasn't relishing the traffic on the way back. Another plus about mass transit. If you've a bad nights rest it doesn't matter. You can sleep en route. That is not advisable when driving.
Paid my $50 to get my car. A little over half of that would have been for round trip plus metro card. The rest would have been night out entertainment had we'd gone out. So I didn't feel cheated. I consulted Suri as to where the best place to catch the bridge was. She told me. I did well until the decision part.
I remembered just fine that at the end you either go to the right for the BQE or straight to go into Brooklyn. Mastered that beautifully. Even easily hit the signs for the BQE. Made my left, unfortunately for me I was in the left lane and needed to be in the right for the sudden right turn.
Didn't make it. Decided to do a turn around carefully. Residential area, cops, tinted windows on my car. Ugh. Long story short I would up back in Manhattan some where in the named streets.
Manhattan is a grid like most places. But if you look at the bottom western part you'll see named streets. Oh it is a nightmare. I just wanted to pull over and consult my phone. Not an easy thing to do in Manhattan. The important thing is never to panic. I knew I had 2 options, would take me very out of my way. Oh and anyone in NYC will know I had more that 2, so quiet you.
Pulled over just as a police car was behind me. Lucky me. I had my signal on, rolled down my window, they passed by with a look and went on their ways. In NYC you never ask a cop for directions.
Finally found my way back to the bridge after some very narrow streets and such. Back over, shit, left lane again. Well not this time. Carefully made the right and when I could made a U turn. Back on the BQE and homeward bound.

Thursday
Morning. About 9:30 here. Had started a draft but it didn't save, oh well spilt milk and all that rubbish.
Yesterday was pleasant enough. Started with a smoke at the beach. Had a few things to pick up from the store. Sister requested heavy cream and strawberries, she was going to make dessert. I had some nice burgers and some Nathans fries ready to go. My brother in law had his beer so he was happy.
Nothing huge really. I also treated to some ice cream from a local shop that opened up. An actual ice cream parlor that makes their own. It's in the same shopping center that my coffee house was in. Long gone that place. This town is funny. Small businesses usually have 1 year before they can start looking at a profit. Here it is the 5 year mark. If a business lasts for 5 years then they have made it. Good luck to them. They have very nice ice cream. Got her some cherry vanilla, him vanilla, me mint chocolate chip. Good stuff.
Had thought I'd go to a friends house, but at the 11th hour his wife went to get her mom. He had been told to clean the house. So that was obviously off.
About 3 o'clock on the hot day there was enough shade in the pool to enjoy a cigar in it. Pool is nice. I've noticed, however, since my heart surgery, my core tempurature drops dramatically. So I don't last long in it. I'm generally the only one that goes in it.
Came in and sister asked me to put the wheel chair down in the kitchen so she could come out. Needless to say it was unecessary. Brother in law passed out in the bed. Heard her move to the other side of the house and knew she was done. So dinner was up to me, again. We'd decided against bbq because of the heat outside. Which is fine, despise having my drunken brother in law doing the bbq.
Made some burgers, hot dogs, and oven baked fries. Nothing special, a recipie I'd picked up from Ina Garten from when I was home recovering from OHS. Baking potatoe, season with some olive oil pepper and for us garlic powder. I cut each half into 3 or 4 pieces. Since brother in law wasn't having any I only used 1 potatoe. Bake at 400 for my oven for 30 min. Flip at the 15 min mark and you have great steak cut french fries. Without all the extra shit they have to do to it pre-packaged.
Went out for an after dinner smoke. Was called inside, appaerntly they weren't sure which was the cherry vanilla. Seriously I cannot make this shit up. I should mention that the place uses real bing cherries. None of that canned shit.
At some point my sister questioned that I was smoking to much. I just sort of glanced at her. Then in her quiet voice asked if it was good for my heart. In my head I questioned her weight, her 2 and a half pack a day smoking habit. But held my toungue and said nothing. Just irritated me a little.
Neighbors across the street put on quite a show. Debris was there when I woke up this morning. Gone now. Dude takes care of his shit that's all that matters. Only one that hated it was the dog. Hid under the chair soon as it got started.
I'm getting set to go into the city for a night at my cousins. I'll probably have to fix the door frame in their room when I get hom tomorrow. Apparently in his stupor he couldn't find his phone, B.I.L., and pulled part of the frame off to go look outside. Stupid. It was in the bed with him.
I'm driving into the city. I want to make some stops on my way home tomorrow. Also they're bussing from my train station so who really knows about the train schedule. Oh well. There's a parking garage at my cousins building so the car will be safe.
That's about it. Must brush teeth, clean out car and such. Treated myself to breakfast out this morning. Beach was crowded with campers, good weather for that. Had some nice stuffed french toast with mango and blueberries. And what looked to be a quater of a pound of fresh strawberries on the side. Good stuff. Oh and yes, this place has delicious coffee with free refills.

Not my idea of a way to start back to work.
We've got about 10 min. so let's do this.
Monday broke drearily enough for my first day back at work. Got up, since while on vacation I kept to my usual schedule this was no great chore. Had some left over salad from Saturday night, I'd improve on it tho.
It is a favorite of mine, mixed dark greens, cranberries, goat cheese, diced pear of the non canned variety, and they left out the walnuts at my asking. Well I'd made flank steak the previous Tuesday and chopped it into the salad. I should mention no dressing.
Have to have blood checked periodically, I've a standing order at the place I use. They open at 6, so if I'm out the door by 10 to I can get there. Usually done in 10-15 min, not crowded normally. I'm friendly with the staff, who chides me if I'm not there regularly. Normally a good experience. (okay was hoping to do this in 10, but I'm hungry, remembered I need lunch, so this will be finished Monday night and maybe posted or posted Tuesday. Okay didn't work try Thursday.)
Get there, am treating myself to an egg sandwhich for breakfast so I haven't eaten yet. 3 people ahead of me, not bad at all. Then I see that it is someone new. Play dramatic music here. I'm not happy. First person goes in, leaves 15 min later. Second person goes in, leaves 15 min later. 3rd person goes in, yup another 15 min. Meanwhile the lab is filling up.
I'm watching the clock, long as I leave my house by 10 after 7 I can make work on time. I am about 10 min in the opposite direction of work. So I wait. A woman comes in to help the technician. Then the dreaded. A woman came in went to the window, she'd made an appointment online.
Normally my usual woman there would have the person wait for a few min, especially seeing there was someone who had just waited an hour to have blood drawn. The woman is shown into a room. 15 min, I would be next. It is now 7:10, I've not had breakfast, there is no sign of anyone coming to say next, I must get breakfast, oh and get to work on time. I cross my name off the list.
Drive 10 min to a deli I know, get my egg sandwhich. It's now 7:20 and I'm going to be late. Personally I just accept it. I'm not risking life and limb and car to get to work. Especially when I am generaly the first person in anyways.
After a lot of driving I make it in about 8:15, when questioned by the annoying co-worker I claim to have been on the dock. Love when people who are perpetually 10 min late and leave 5 min early question a really bad morning for me.
The salad? What would you do with a salad that had cheese and been wilting for a little over 2 hours in your car. Tossed! Had to buy lunch, which meant the money I was saving for the week was not bitten into.
Anyway, that's how the week started. Happy 4th! I'm off to the city tomorrow. later.
