Going to be a week.

I like those statements.  Something concrete about something.  It's like when people at work tell me the weekend was to short.  My response is generally, "It's the same 2 days as last week."  Gets a chortle every so often.

Today being Monday of course I went around saying "Happy Monday."  I just refuse to get all tied up because of the day that follows Sunday.  Every week it's followed by Sunday.  I don't think it's ever taken a day off, not to my recollection.  But then I could be mistaken.

Sunday was alright.  Lounge and watched some Football.  Came home and made my first batch of chili in a good 14 years.  Oh and in those 14 years there were a lot of Mondays too.  Just saying.

Got a bit of salmon to cook tonight.  Oven baked, with some garlic powder and pepper.  Lots of pepper.  And I bake it with 3 slices of Lemon on top.  Makes for an awesome lunch.  It's my last piece, must go back to mega mart and buy more of the frozen stuff.  I did buy myself a can of it on Sunday.

When I'm done I'll get busy.  It's not even 8 in the evening yet.  Dogs barking I'll be right back.  Yup it's a full moon.  Lunatic creature.

Going to make some guacamole tonight too.  Love it on a bagel, or even on a whole wheat matzo.  Couple of avocado's; onion; 2 plum tomatoes; one squeezed lime.  Now you have something good.  I don't really bother with the cilantro.  I don't miss it.  Despise buying something I'm not going to use again.  Sort of like when I make hummus.  I don't use tahini sauce.

Dog is nuts.  She came in for just a face rub just now.  What do you expect of rescue dogs.  I remember clearly that summer we went to lots of pounds because my sister wanted a dog.  Shame, was some of the nicest times with both of them.  We don't go out a lot anymore.  With the exception of the Montauk expedition.  I still wouldn't have chosen this dog.  And to boot my sister isn't her favorite person.  I'm second, do the math if you've been here awhile.

I'm still reeling from the fact that I had 96 views the other day.  I mean really now, is it that interesting?  Well who knows.  We'll see what happens.  I'm surely not going to change what I'm doing.  Especially since I've guacamole and salmon on the brain.  Okay it's near 8.  Time to get busy.

Gray Monday Vacay Day

One of my favorite blogs seems to be leaving.  70 child.  So I sent my thanks and good wishes.  Of course I messed it up considerably.  Had that comment verification enabled, so each time I entered it I just noticed it didn't say sent.  Long story shortened, I sent the message like 10 times until I saw the message was on the top.  Oh well.

Of course my coffee is good. You're joining me at about the 3rd and final cup mark.  So this week I'm off.  Looks like scattered showers until Thursday.  Technically fine with me.  What is on the agenda today.

Coffee.  Check.

That's about it at the moment.  Oh and I do want to visit my pal at the cigar shop, just to say hello.  Think it will be my only sojourn there this week.  I actually stopped there Saturday, and of course Sunday as well.  Hoping to catch up with another friend who is a regular there.  Enough about that plop.

Summer is ending, sad.  Although I may have cracked the code slightly.  We all wonder how we loose the time when so young and how it goes so fast.  For me I think I find it goes about pay periods.  Seriously hear me out.

Younger me did chores for a once a week allowance.  Having only me to spend it on.  Being outdoors all day and a lot of the evening.  Glorious.  There are moments when I can still catch certain colors of the Summer sky and trees, I pause.  It takes me back.  I kid you not, one dusk reminded me so much of my youth I saw a vision of my former best friend from childhood.  I knew she wasn't there.  I let the image just sit, I enjoyed it.  Auburn hair, yellow dress, killer smile.  MIND OUT OF THE GUTTER PEEPS!  Talking about when kids were kids here.  She stayed next door, I remember running across dew soaked lawns with her.  Anyway...

As we get older and more distracted time starts to shrink.  Not so much perceptibly, at least to me.  My point is now as an adult. I get paid every 2 weeks.  So Summer is generally 6 paychecks.  Damn I lost my rhythm, I'd apologize but we did that already about something else.  Okay let me focus....sip aging coffee.

Poured out aged cold coffee; rinsed mug; shut both kitchen lamps brother in law left on as an offering to the electric company.  Sunday passed well enough.  Lounge was good.  Brother in law, although drunk, managed to get the pork roast and potatoes into the oven.  Came out nice too.  Cigar by the water with live music across the lawn.  Was some sort of rock-a-billy stuff.  Actually a little disappointing.  But I did have my IPod with me so listened to some pod-casts.

Today.  Wish I could tell me, let alone you, what is planned.  Gray weather has thrown me for a loop.  To expensive a week to travel, I am thinking of next week.  I'm also considering a considerably cheaper, not so much closer, overnight this week.  More to come on that when it gels in my head.  Weill there is always cleaning, I've always got that to do.  Wondering if sister will go to work this week.  Ugh.  Anyway.

So I simply am at a loss of what I am doing.  The only planned thing is not to waste money.  Burn on my hand is healing.  Glad it happened when it did, I can ensure the maximum of cleanliness for it.  Bandage it when I go out, when I'm home and not doing much I let it breathe, and yes I bandage it whilst I sleep. I'm a tosser and turner.

Okay so that's it for now.  Going to try for an entry a day if I'm not away.  Oh read this part last if you like because I've just been inspired to say something else.

This week or weekend I watched on YouTube, 'I forgot my phone'  which I feel really highlights how invasive technology has become in our lives.  Yes I'm fond of my phone.  Yes I check it every so often.  No, never in the middle of a conversation.  We really are lurching towards a Bradbury future.

Okay you may not know the story, quick synopsis.  Was about a man who went for a walk in the evening, no one else is seen out..  Robot cops detain him.  Ask why is he outside.  Is his entertainment center broken, his computer.  Obviously the story is a bit ahead of his time, but the point is he is arrested and sent away because of it.  Look it up or something.  I must go.  Do a few emails, then going out, even if it is only to play in the rain.

Later.

Really trying to gather my thoughts.  Let's see I've got something working in the drafts about a hilarious event that took place.  Problem is 2 fold.  Really difficult for people to get a handle on the lunacy of it without an introduction to my co-worker.  Not something you could just read cold you know.

Monday was simply an awesome day for me.  Had one of the single best work out days I've had in 3 or 4 years.  And then work was busy as Hell.  Moving a lot of stuff physically, felt great to be able to do that again.  Was to exhausted to mow the lawn when I got home, slept great.

Tuesday.  That is another story.  Does not affect me, but cannot go into it in this time frame.  So I've the thoughts and stuff to write about.  Just don't have the capacity for it, if that is what I mean at all.

I don't mind a rambling blog, I'm quite fond of them actually.  There are things however that require cohesive thought.  That is what I have not had the capacity to do for the last few days.  Even now I'm reminding myself I've no lunch, and need to wash container to bring a snack to work in.

Just a bunch of jumbled thoughts.  Oh and I want to be able to leave on time to make the gym of course.  There is cohesion there let's talk about the gym.

Firstly I've not joined one, still using the one at my job.  We're down a treadmill so 1 isn't available to me when I get there.  I've felt I have needed more.  Emboldened by my last city adventure.  So I decided to use the elliptical machine.

Was a great 30 minute experience.  Legs felt great.  I'm thinking I may actually may have started up again last week.  Well my legs are feeling much stronger now which I needed.  Especially when you consider that on Monday the elevator was broken.  I work in the concourse, office buildings don't say basement apparently.  The loading dock is the floor above.  So yes, many, many, many trips up the stairs.  But that is besides the point.

When I was done I wanted something more.  So I used a machine for the arms.  Nothing huge, triceps and quads I think.  When I say nothing huge, I mean 20lbs.  3 reps of 10.  Was pleasant.

Upped the level on Tuesday which was pleasant.  Oh thank goodness for pod casts, otherwise I don't know how I'd last on the damned machine.  Worked on the biceps a bit.  Today back to the other machine after the elliptical.  I remember something about not working the same group of muscles two days in a row if you don't have to.

I'm looking for toning and a little more muscle mass.  Hoping to drop a few pounds before my cardiologist appointment at months end.  Other than that stuff is, hectic.  Hopefully will be back to explain.  And maybe get the preamble to the draft story finished.

Later.
Oh and spell check button may be back, but it is now terrible.  Hope they fix it.

The malaise has lifted

My goodness the my country is finding me boring.  If those stats are to be believed.  Coming in 3rd in reading this.  Ah well, they'll hopefully come back too.  After all I put them first in the label, sneaky person that I am.

As the title states the malaise, I'm now defining the feeling yesterday by that term, has lifted.  Much like a lazy fog on a dismal day, revealing that the fog may have been the most enchanting part of the day.

Was a damp gray day again.  Work was hectic.  People are people.  Actually, yesterday dragged like crazy.  Kept looking up from whatever I was doing and couldn't believe the time.  At some point my sister called, near 3, nothing important was the message.  Means basically I can call when I get a chance.

Enterprise had given her a car rental for 30 days, through auto insurance and such.  Car due back Thursday the 25th.  If I didn't mention it and I probably didn't, the credit card she used got cancelled.  So yesterday they called and wanted the car back a day early.  Car is $152 with insurance.  Anything over $150 they do not take anything but a credit card, and they will call and report the vehicle stolen.  Oh and they are along the same damned stretch where she had the accident.

The upshot is I need to go in late this morning.  So I can go and give my credit card and she can have the car 1 more day.  Oh joyous.  And since I promised to talk less of them, no there are no other options.  End tale.  Well, actually they were part of my weekend, sorry.
