Who else takes 3 days to post about a snow weekend?

Put on these positively archaic boots, made the bottom of the stairs out back.  Turned right and stared at the gorgeous virgin snow where no tracks were made.  I lit my cigar and enjoyed the scene.  Now I purposely left my camera and phone in the kitchen.  Klutz that I am, I didn't need to fall and ruin them.

Shovel acting as my staff and stabilizer I made slow but fun progress.  I remember being a kid and loving deep snow no one had been in.  The snow was up to my knees.  I took it slowly so as not to agitate the heart to much either.  Each step I secured, making sure I wasn't on anything before I transferred weight to move the other.  Smoking my cigar, began to sing and stopped that.  "It's about endurance", I told myself sternly.

Took longer than I thought but I made the far corner where the wee forest of trees, that need to come down were.  Passed unchallenged enjoying the moment, the smoke, the calm weather, and the sheer beauty of the moment.  Enjoy what and when you can kids, there will be enough moments to despair of in life as it is.

Rounded the next corner, couple of vine covered trees.  Ever notice vines always seem alive even in deep winter?  There it was.  The vent for the dryer.  I'd have to say a good cone sized 6 inches of snow on it.  I steadied myself with the shovel, reached and cleared it off..

The trek back was a bit easier, as I had my footsteps to follow.  The cigar was pleasant.  Even saw a few birds.  I think this spring I'm going to think seriously about setting up a bird feeder.  There are issues that come with that though, ones people don't always consider.  Rodents.  That's another tale altogether.

Back at the stoop I hollered in and told my brother in law all was cleared and stayed out and enjoyed the rest of my stoop.  I did dig a little larger area for the dog to do it's business too.  I mean come on, I was already outside, with a shovel.

I've no recollection of dinner.  Monday work was fine, little tough going getting in.  No real incidents to speak of.  Manager was out, unfortunately there will be little chance of overtime this week at all.  I'll survive.

And that is really that gang.  Glad to see some seem to enjoy reading this.  Follow if you like.  Comment as well.  Let's think on spring.  I'm thinking of 3-4 short vacations for the right price, now is the time to plan.  Later.
